WHAT ON EARTH AM I HERE FOR?

The average life span of a man is 25,550 days, everyone has a race to run, a dream to pursue, a journey to complete and a duty to perform. What is your life's purpose on this planet? Are you just here to add up to the number? In Rick Warren's book titled ''The purpose driven life'', a philosophy professor at the Northeastern Illinois University named Hugh Moorhead once wrote to 250 of the world's best known philosophers, writers, scientists and intellectuals asking them '' What is the meaning of life?''. Their answers were then published in a book, some of them guessed, others were honest to say they had no idea and others used worldly theories in addressing the question. All of these men and women forgot that it only takes a revelation from God to answer such a question. What am I doing here? How did I get here? Why am I here?
It all begins with God; you cannot understand your life's purpose if you focus all your attention on yourself since you did not create yourself. We all agree that the only way to know and understand the purpose of an invention is to either consult the inventor and/or read the user's manual attached to the invention. In our case as men, our inventor is God whiles the user's manual is the Bible. Being successful and fulfilling your life's purpose are two different things, you can become successful by the world's standard and yet miss the purpose for which God created you, I assure you that you can only discover your identity and purpose through a relationship with Christ. God planned you before you existed without your input. You may choose your career, your spouse, your hobbies and many other parts of your life, but you don't get to choose your purpose. NOTE as we help ourselves in understanding our lives' purposes, we are also bound to learn new things, build up our confidence as to what we can do as men. The purpose of your life fits into a much larger cosmic purpose that God has designed for eternity, you are not an accident, your birth was no mistake, and your life is no fluke of nature. Your parents may not have planned you, but God did. He thought of you first before your parents, it's not fate, nor chance, nor luck, nor a coincidence that you’re breathing at this very moment. He deliberately chose your race, skin color, your hair and other features, he knew the two individuals that possessed the right genetic makeup to create the custom ''you''. They had the DNA God wanted to make you, while there are illegitimate parents, there are no illegitimate kids. God never make mistakes, he never does anything accidentally. He created not because he was lonely, the trinity expressed perfect love and because God is love, he just wanted to express his love. What drives your life? Everyone's life is driven by something, what is the driving force behind your life?
